As some of you know, I consider myself a member of Transformation Church and we are currently in a series where I have been challenged with the question: what is your purpose, what were you called to do? And I can say with 100% confidence that I'm an educator through and through...I like to help people by educating them in all facets of life. I like to educate people on ways to effectively travel, I educate people on how to access channels to learn different languages...I can go on and on. Another member challenged me more and said, how can you use this for Kingdom marriages. So I thought long and hard on it and said to myself, we have been through "sickness and health, richer and poorer, better and worse". I think I have some qualifications to shed some light on marriage so my post today is about prepping for the hard seasons. As we approach fall, I have been discussing with lil boo about how some animals are preparing for a long, rough season. We talked about how animals don't have calendars yet they know summer won't last forever. They know in order to survive, they have to get through the long, dark season of life that is guaranteed to come around. Humans can certainly learn from God's cute creatures. To get through the rough times, we have to prepare during the good times. Marriage certainly experiences all of the seasons. And just like our furry friends know, summer in marriage soon comes to an end and thus is the cycle of life. So how do you prepare for the long, dark season of marriage? We can start by loving our spouse the way Christ loves us- unwavering, unconditional! When we serve, date, and respect our spouse during the good season, we are creating reserves to live on during the bad season. So I challenge you all today to think back to the beginning of your love story, how did you show love to your spouse in the beginning?? Do one of those things each day for the next week...and let me know how that is going for you.
